I’d actually recommend the Arlington Hotel in downtown Hot Springs. It’s literally right next to the hot springs, and when I stayed there I got to enjoy their hidden treat… the swimming pool is heated by the hot springs water. There is a jacuzzi, and it was a real treat to move between pool and jacuzzi for an hour or so. I wish I was there now.
You might also want to check out this article about the more “magical” side of Hot Springs: http://mysterious-places.suite101.com/article.cfm/valley_of_the_vapors I’ve camped in Gulpha Gorge a few times and it was simply gorgeous.
